Ingredients:

  • 1 C hazelnuts
  • 3 TBS coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 TBS raw cacao
  • 2 TBS maple syrup
  • 6 oz dark chocolate

Instructions:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Place hazelnuts on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for about 12 minutes, just until they’re slightly browned and the skins are slightly blistering.
  3. Once baked, rub either between your hands or between a kitchen towel to remove the skins. You won’t get every last bit of skin, that’s okay. Allow them to cool completely.
  4. Use a double boiler method on the stove to melt your chocolate, set aside.
  5. Place hazelnuts in a food processor and whiz until they’ve formed a paste.
  6. Add oil, vanilla, salt, cacao and maple syrup and whiz until as smooth as you can get it.
  7. Add chocolate, blend well.

Notes:

  • Try to buy organic ingredients whenever possible.
  • Always use pink Himalayan salt or true sea salt.
  • Always use real vanilla essence.
